Equality in Sports ACTIV8
Equality in Sports at LJFS
Here at LJFS, we have taken a significant step towards promoting equality and inclusivity in its Physical Education (PE) and sport curriculum by introducing the innovative Activ8 programme. This initiative not only ensures that students have access to a wide range of sports but also encourages participation in less common sports, fostering a diverse and inclusive sporting environment.
According to Equality in Sports in Schools UK, “Promoting equality in sports is not just about providing access to activities; it’s about creating an environment where every student feels valued and included, regardless of their background or abilities.”
The Leeds Jewish Free School’s implementation of the Activ8 programme is a testament to its dedication to providing a well-rounded and inclusive education. By offering a diverse range of sports, LJFS not only promotes equality and inclusivity but also helps students develop essential life skills and a lifelong love for physical activity. The Activ8 programme is a shining example of how schools can innovate their PE and sport curricula to meet the needs and interests of all students, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
